Most of the present St Mary’s Church was completed by J. Colson in 1864. Pevsner draws attention to the polygonal vestry. In addition the tower is from the thirteenth century, the font from the fourteenth “with different variations on the theme of the mouchette wheel”, and the south chapel has two perpendicular windows and one thirteenth century window. And two massive coats of arms commemorate former churchwardens.

Members will be interested to see how the new Church Hall has been added to the southern side of the church in a sympathetic style.

The church can be found off the London Road in King’s Worthy, with easy access directly from Winchester, or by way of the M3, A34 and A33. [For those with satellite navigation, key in “SO23 7JL”.] Parking is 100 yds to the West of the church.
