Grants and Finance

The Trust welcomes enquiries and applications for grants and loans from Christian churches of all denominations for work to preserve, maintain or repair the fabric of the church, including modification for disabled access.

Funds are raised principally through the Ride & Stride, also through Membership subscriptions and donations.

In 2006 sixteen churches received a total of £37,700 in grants and £2,000 in interest-free loans. The Trust also paid out £22,152 to churches as a result of the Ride & Stride.

It is important that those wishing to apply for a grant or loan should study carefully our Conditions. Please note in particular that no grants are paid in respect of work which has already started before approval is given. The Grants sub-committee, which carefully considers each request before making recommendations to the Executive Committee, meets three times a year, in February, June and October.

The church of St Peter and St Paul, Hambledon, has most kindly provided us with a document ‘Lessons Learned’ (click here) which churches considering new projects may find helpful.
