Taking part

There are 3 ways that your church can take part:

  1. Riders and Striders from the parish can raise money through seeking sponsorship and participating on
the day. All ages can take part by bicycle, on foot, in a wheelchair or on horseback. It can be a fun day
out for a family or group or just for an individual.
  2. Open your church for people from other churches to visit.
  3. Put up a welcome sign outside or in the porch for people to sign.

The last two options enable your church to help Riders and Striders from other churches to raise money.

Please register your church by downloading the following document and send to your Area Coordinator by May 1st Church Registration Document

But there are other things that you can do:

If there is a church near you that has a Rider and Strider, why not ask if you can also sponsor him or her? Your church could then receive an agreed equivalent percentage of the returned money.

Sponsor stewards who man your church on Ride and Stride Day on an exercise Bike.

For those who are Riding and Striding, you are free to choose your own route and to visit as many of the churches in your area as you wish, between 10 am and 6 pm. (click here for List of Participating Churches) You may be amazed at the variety of churches you may find in quite a small area. The money you raise from your sponsors will be divided between this Trust and the church or churches of your choice. (click here to download a sponsorship form)

All details and paperwork will be sent to you on request by contacting the County Ride & Stride Coordinators Sarah Miller and Caroline Tomlinson please click here, or phone them on 01264 772339 and 01264 772414 respectively. But in order that your church appears in the hard copy of the List of Churches for the current year, the information must be received by May 1st at which time all necessary paperwork is passed to our printer.
